Hold your head up high

ProForm 66481Some of you readers who visited the FordMuscle booth at the FordSouthWest car show in Arizona last month, spotted these cylinder head “V” stands propping up the AFR head in our display. Many guys wanted to know where we got the stands since they are perfect for holding up heads when porting or assembling. Well here is the scoop.

The stands are made by ProForm (part number 66481) and are made from aluminum with a vinyl coating to prevent scratching your heads (pun intended.)
They come in a pair and will hold steady just about any cylinder head, small or big block, you want to position on the stands. If you are using the stands to do some aggressive porting we recommend drilling a couple of holes into the feet and bolting them to your workbench for added stability. Clearly this beats propping up the head on coffee cans, two-by-fours, or whatever else you’ve been doing!

The V stands can be found at various online parts shops for around $85 a pair. Just Google: Proform 66481 and you’ll get plenty of listings. Or visit http://www.proformparts.com/ for a dealer locator.

  1. I’ve got a pair of these and they’re great! A nice quality part, despite the fact that they come from the same country as the previous reviewers’ computer, clothing, tv ,and microwave.

  2. hell yeah buy american or make your own!
