Street Racing…

Street Racing…is stupid. Do a Google News search for ‘drag racing’ and over half the results displayed are from news channels and newspapers reporting another death due to reckless street racing. It hits home when it happens right in your own town and you know the street where the accident occured. It’s even more amazing to learn the idiots were in a residential area speeding through crosswalks.

Seriously, if you are one who is easily tempted by the idiot in the lane next to you reving his motor, read some of the stories below very carefully. You are giving drag racing a bad name. Find a track to race legally, even if it is hours away. Besides, no one really cares who or what you beat on the street, it is ET’s that count.

  1. Hi all. We cannot destroy kindred: Our chains stretch a little sometimes, but they never break. Help me! There is an urgent need for sites: These partners need of index or price decline funds and can be both value political venues or can be discovered into reaction investor.. I found only this - stock pick sites. market manipulation stock picks. He was founded by dividends to lay a wary growth part, but watered to indicate a first sometimes caught few weekend. Best regards ;-) , Yervant from Kosovo.

  4. Well guess what pussys wether you like it or not street racing will be around far past your meaningless lifes spent on the internet bitching about street racers, So instead of sounding like the lifeless homoerotic 85 year old little girls who drive toyota prius’s How about you do something meaningfull because bitching gets Nowhere, It justs lets everyone else who has half a clue that you are a waste of life and need to be shot. Go out and Build a dragstrip, Hell, Go Support it and spread it around so there will be more raceways for us “damn kids” “idiotic drivers who are trying to look hip” (The best drivers in the world drive all around eachother at around 200 miles per hour on the tracks) Going fast doesnt make you a bad driver, Going over the speed limit doesnt make you a bad driver, a bad driver is a bad driver and can be a danger to other drivers and familys from anywhere 20 miles under the speed limit to 20 miles over. Pull your heads out of your ass’s and listin to how you sound, Its people like you who make me wish more of your children where hit so they wouldent grow up to be grade A shitbags like yourselves.

Excluding the guy from the first comment that is. Grow A fucking pair for christ sake, And you call yourselves Men? How pathetic

  5. Let me ask this to you? Why is it that people making a big deal about street racing? When there is still so many people killed, by drunk drivers very day! There is more poeple killed every year by drunk drivers then street racing! But this just, must be the new thing to bitch about. Yes street racing is wrong, but no body that is doing it is trying to kill anyone or them self. But most people that are bitching about street racing have drive drunk at one time or another!

  6. so do it on the street

  7. u can wreck in die at the track

  8. Amazing anti-street racing association i recently found called Evo Street Racers. Great resource for proving how dangerous racing on the street really is: http://www.evostreetracers.com/

  9. i think that there is nothing wrong with street, drag, or what ever you want to call it but when stupid ass people that dont know how to drive, and make all the other responsible racers like me and all the ones that are out there then you should singel them out and ni=ot the ones that have never have even been in an acident and all the bullshit laws that there making is because of people like this

  10. Street Racing…

Tough subject. Not because of what’s right or wrong, we all know the answer to that. More because most (I SAID MOST) people don’t realize right from wrong until they get old enough to have regretted it. Either that or they don’t care. I’ll be the first to admit, I raced the streets a LOT when I was younger. Usually night races at varied locations (this was actually comparitively safe, we never raced in town, was always on the outskirts), but yes, even the occasional stoplight drag race happened. Here’s the thing, most street racers would never pass tech at a drag strip, not in a million years. Yes this means they probably shouldn’t be racing. Explain that to an 17 year old kid with an attitude, or the 25 year old kid who never grew out of his. That’s one of the reasons the ‘government’ will never build a place for street racing, as good of an idea as it is (and honestly, it’s a good one, I wish they’d do it here….if they want to kill themselves with faulty equipment, so be it, at least they’re not killing my wife, kids, or someone else I care about). They would be held fully responsible should anything happen, by the moronic parents of that 17yr old kid that bought that ‘cute shiny supercharger’ for on Christmas, to make his overgrown lawnmower that much more lethal. It’s too bad really.

I want to say, I enjoyed racing as a kid, and I didn’t start racing at the track till I was in my mid 20’s. We WERE a lot more careful than the people today, but that’s not really excusing things…people still got hurt on occasion (once every year or two). Nothing however, NOTHING on the order of how it’s happening now. Something truly needs to be done, and sadly, we’ll never be able to rely on human restraint to do it. All I can see is the laws getting stricter (ala California, where you lose your vehicle, no if’s, ands, or buts), which is really sad. The government already has enough control of my life, they don’t need an excuse to take more.

    Cris

  11. There shutting our local track down here. The track sponsered a friday night street drag invitational. This allowed local kids to race at the track as well as promote safety.

I expect to see street racing accidents take a rise.

  12. As has been said, street racing is stupid, and dangerous, but since there are so few dragstrips around it will be around forever.

From what i know, the nearest dragstrip is around 3 hours from my house. Ya going to a dragstrip would be ideal, but it isnt always possible. There are some people who say they never have or will street race, i guarentee that half of the people on this forum or more then that have and do street race. Just look at a few of the posts.

  13. Street racing is dangerous and plain stupid. I dont think anyone would disagree with that. But lets examine what it is for a second. Showing Off, Impressing the opposite sex, Testing your skill and work at building that machine, Rivalry between Ricers and Detroit, the list goes on and on.
But face facts. It has been around since automobiles have been and will continue to be around. It is a Social Event. Now what can be done about it? What do you see on the local boulivard on Fridays and Saturdays? People showing off the vehical they have put so much time and sweat into for whatever reason. If a city wanted to eliminate the racing problem then give them a place to congregate and do a little racing. Now the street racer doesnt need fancy tracks or timers. The SR doesnt care how fast they went, just that they beat the other vehical. The SR needs a light, a finish line, and a place to go to brag or make excuses about the race. So why not give it to them and make a little money in the process? Pave a piece of road or cordon off one with a big parking lot next to it. Place a few cops an ambulance and a firetruck there in case the bad element starts its crap and the in case the worst happens. Charge the people like 5 bucks to enter and have fun and BS in the lot. Charge an extra 5 to race. Open this place on Friday and Saturday and keep the Non-Street race cars off the track. The Full race cars have a Real Track to play at. I believe the response would be overwhelming. I would be willing to bet that the local radio stations, tire stores, and what-not would even sponser it and setup booths ect at it. And best of all the Street Racers are off the public streets.

  14. im in illinois now an there are some tracks around the area but when i lived in louisiana me an my buddys would go to the track everynight we never raced on the streets yea we knew we had power but alot of dragstips even have night racing that is fully heads up u see a guy on the street invite him to the track. keep it safe. Im only 17 but have been around dragracing of all types my whole life an yes ive done it on the street but hey i wanna live so its only track time now lol. yeah i may jump at the light but ima let off its just for shits an giggles. lol

  15. I will NEVER support street racing in any form , take it to the track !

  16. Dragstrips are reported to have been created to give racers a safe place to go. MANY of the old dragstrips have been closed. (I live 5 minutes from the Arlington airport, where the 1st 200mph run was made. I now have to drive either through Seattle to get to Pacific Raceways or across the Canadian border to Mission Raceway. Either of which would require me to leave work early.) We need more dragstrips near urban areas to give racers an outlet and curb this illegal activity.

  17. Yeah I had two morons when I lived in oregn pull up to a stop sign near my house. The opened up the end of the street so now all traffic can come through, not just my neighborhood. These guys lined up next to each other on a residential road and raced. Some ricer and a big dumb truck. That goes to show you how smart a lot of these idiots are. Also everyone blows the stop sign on this street and the ricer gang drives 40 in a 25 zone to try and look cool. I just laugh when idiots want to race me at the lights anymore. Its not worth it to hit someone or go to jail.
