Digital cameras are great, but nothing tells a story like a scan from an old photo showing off your Ford Muscle. The staff came across this shot uploaded by “Runkster” to the Reader’s Cars. Oh, let’s take a guess. Based on the condition of the Torino, the tank top (Lakers or Rams?), the high tops, pegged jeans, and Fletch-like hair-do… we’re guessing this has got to be from around 1981.
Thanks for the upload Runkster, great shot! Please tell us more about this photo by commenting below.

What ever happened to the torino?
Yip, you’re right. I can see the freshly mowed grass around the car. Funny.

By The other sister. January 30th, 2008 at 11:40 amThat’s my brother! If I recall he needed a rest after mowing the waist high grass to get to the car!!!
…and Matt, you have to tell them about the exciting drive home that nite!
By Laura. January 29th, 2008 at 6:35 pmThis a picture with my first car. As mentioned it is a ‘72 Gran Torino Sport (351C 2v). I was probably 16-17 years old and was taken in the late 80’s. My uncle had bought this car in AZ 4-5 years prior to this and the transmission went out on the drive back. It was parked in my grandmothers yard on the side of her house and sat there until I bought it off of him for $400. (I couldn’t afford a mustang at the time.) It was a great car and I always wanted to get another one just like it but ended up getting a mustang(s) instead.
Was I in a Metal band? I thought everyone was back then. I have ohter non car pictures that would make you guys cringe. None with spandex, thank God.
Matt
