www.fordification.com

No, we are not turning into a Ford truck website although we’ve got a lot of truck material this month, so don’t worry. However, we sure have gained a new respect for older F-Series trucks after trying to hunt down a new project last November. While we ended up with a 1978 model, we had our hearts set on a 1967-1972 model. Commonly referred to as the “bumpside” due to the convex horizontal body line, 1967-1972 trucks share classic looks and the raw Ford toughness you expect from F-series. During our search we came across a website specifically serving the niche of “bumpsides” at www.fordification.com. Site owner Keith Dickson does an excellent job keeping fordification current and moderated. Because Keith’s site spans just this 6 model year range, he is able to keep the community tight and the content extremely relevant. If you are ever thinking about getting a 1967-1972 Ford truck then www.fordification.com is the place to look for support. Hats off to Keith and the participants at fordification for keeping it going. The FM staff and our forum users know it’s a lot of work!

  5. THIS WEB SITE HAS HELPED TREMENDOUSLY. I HAVE REPLACED A 360 ENGINE IN A 68 F250, AND TRACED ELECTRICAL WIRING TO TROUBLESHOOT IGNITION PROBLEMS. YOU GUYS DO AN EXCELLENT JOB WITH THE TIPS AND ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR FE SERIES TRUCKS.

KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB !!!!

OLDER MODEL FORD TRUCKS SHOULD NEVER BE FORGOTTEN,OR ALLOWED TO SIT UNUSED TO RUST AWAY.

  6. I had a ‘67 bumpside with overdrive and FE engine it would not burn any oil and I drove the heck out of it too. Had a drunk not totaled when it was parked long ago I’d still have it. Fordification is great but it’s sad to see all those pickups in the various states of disrepair.
I still have a 428 waiting to go into something, who knows maybe another bumpside.

  7. Michael,

Try Ford Enthusiats they have ford trucks broken by years, engines by type, and other things of interest

  8. There is no site for Ford Trucks as well maintained and organized as Fordification. Period. Great Job, Keith!

  9. This is one great site, Keep it up PLEASE!!

  11. An excellent site if your a bump owner but we welcome anybody who shares a love for F-series. Best web site and group of folks you could ever come to know and an enormous knowledge base of theses trucks. Hats off to ya.

  12. I purchased a “bump” with spark plug change only mechanical ability. Since I joined fordification.com 7 months ago, I’ve succesfully negotiated my first engine rebuild thanks to EXTREMELY knowledgeable and willing member of this site. I’m looking forward to tackling the next challenge or modification with the bumpside blue oval brotherhood only a post away.

  13. Thanks again guys for recognizing our little niche over at fordification. I was about to get rid of my old 72 f100 ranger xlt LWB bumpside when i found the site and all the good advice.

You guys rock We rock And Mr. Commiskey, Even though we are bump oriented some stuf still applies to 73-89 on these trucks so stop in and see what you can find out we won’t flame you for having a 78-79.

  14. Fordification Rocks!

  15. I am a forum member of Fordification and beleive me when I say that is one great bunch of guys. Keith does one of the best jobs I have ever seen on keeping up with technical advice for this era trucks. Being a “Bumpside” owner this place has helped me in more ways than one while I’m in process of restoring my 69 Ford F-100 Ranger. Thanks again for taking notice of our site and Once again thanks really goes to Keith for keeping the passion alive with our “Bumps”! Member name BigD’s69.

  16. Just a quick question. I recently bought a 1978 F150 Ranger 4×4. I want to fix it up and do some cutomizing but have found very few web sites/ products for this year. The classic sites end between 1970 and 1977 and most of the rest start at 1980. Do you know why this is? It seems 1978 and 1979 are basterd years:) and this is a truck since I was a kid.
