Back in January at the North American International Auto Show, Shelby American announced that it would soon begin building and selling complete widebody packages 2010-2014 Ford Mustangs. Since then we haven’t heard much, but now the latest details, including pricing, have emerged from Shelby’s Las Vegas headquarters.
If you’re looking to make your Mustang look bigger and badder, then prepare to shell out at least $3,999 for just the rear quarter panels. Want the whole kit? That’ll set you back a cool $5,999. But it’ll be worth it for that bold widebody look.
Built using lightweight fiberglass components, the 2010-2014 Mustang widebody kits adds an extra six-inches to the fenders, allowing drivers to equip a up to 345 tires and 13-inch wheels. Tires that wide can provide an immense amount of grip, and the front widebody panels allow for 10-inch wide wheels as well. This widebody is about looks and performance, and along with the 2005-2009 kit, the S197 Mustang is now completely covered as far as widebody looks go.
For $3,999, Shelby will sell you the rear quarter-panels and fuel door; you’ll have to shell out $5,999 to include the front panels as well. While you can install this kit yourself, Shelby recommends hiring a shop with experience, as this kit requires an extensive amount of body work to make it look right. Once it’s on though, you’ll have a broad, bold-looking Mustang that few can compare to.
