As of late, Ford has been flooding its vehicle with all sorts of high technology gadgets. The best example is the very popular SYNC system, which links drivers with music, weather, live traffic updates and more. To date it has been installed in over 2 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles, with more joining the ranks of high-tech mobile gadgets every day. This is just the tip of the iceberg though, and Ford is pushing technology in its cars in new and exciting ways.

One of the hottest gadgets on the market right now is the Apple iPad. Mustangs Daily reports that Ford has created an iPad app specifically for the 2012 Ford Mustang.

The Mustang and iPad may seem like strange bedfellows, but this tablet computer has already proven very popular with the muscle car crowd. We’ve even seen iPads get installed on the Mustang while the HVAC controls are moved to the roof, giving it a decidedly “cockpit” look. So the iPad and Mustang go together quite handily.

The 2012 Mustang app (which is free) is like an interactive brochure of America’s favorite pony car. In addition to all the details on each model of Mustang, there are hundreds of pictures, videos, and 360 degree tours inside and outside the cars. There are complete histories of the Mustang’s racing heritage and of course you can “build your own” while customizing it with stripes and whatnot. You can even check the inventory of local Ford dealerships and request a price quote, just in case you’re in the market for a new Mustang. And aren’t we all?
