Every Mustang fan in the world wants to get their hands on the 2013 Boss 302, a 440 horsepower track-ready beast of an automobile. Alas, with a starting price north of $40,000, only the well-heeled can really get one…at least legally. For less scrupulous members of society though, there is always the tradition of grand theft auto.
A thief or thieves broke into a Canadian car dealership and stole one of the most expensive cars on the floor. Yup, you guessed it, a 2013 Boss 302 Mustang, driving it 45 miles before crashing it down an embankment according to the Wrecked Exotics website.
That is a sad story, made all the sadder by the fact that 2013 Boss 302 production is limited, and ending this year. There will be no 2014 Boss 302 Mustang, and the Boss name might not be around on a Mustang for another 40 year. That means the thieves, who from the sounds of it weren’t caught, basically took the car on a 45 mile joy ride before destroying it. What a waste.
What’s more, the Boss had just 150 miles on the odometer, meaning it was basically brand new (we imagine the first 100 miles came from test drives…by the dealers). Judging from the extensive damage up and down the driver’s side, this Boss is more likely than not totaled. Then again, with such a high MSRP, this Boss Mustang might find a second life as a salvage title.
Most likely though, it’ll be parted out and eventually scrapped. We hope the Canadian Mounties hunt the bastards down who did this to this unfortunate Boss 302 Mustang.
