Look, we all love Mustangs here, right? Right. Even so, we appreciate some diversity within the confines of our Mustang community. We celebrate different ideas, at least most of the time, and while we may not always agree with what someone has done to their Ford pony car, we try to respect that idea. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
But we’re just sitting here, scratching our heads, trying to figure out what the Hell happened to this next Mustang. Objectively speaking, it isn’t pretty, though the craftsmanship is pretty good. We found it for sale on Hemmings, though we have to wonder…would anyone want to buy a car that is so…polarizing?
There are absolutely no details given on this supposedly 1972 Ford Mustang. Sure, the ‘72 Mustangs weren’t great looking cars, but the huge bubble butt added (with what looks to be 350z tail lights) to the back end of this pony car isn’t doing it any favors. The front end is equally rounded and wacky looking, eschewing the classic headlights and tallights in favor of something more modern…though where those lenses came from is anybody’s guess.
The interior is clean and largely unmolested, as is the engine bay. But for some reason someone painted an American flag on the rear differential cover, which is kinda cool, and kinda disrespectful. You’d think you’d want to keep the banner of our nation away from the ground, not as close as possible…but different people have different ideas of appropriate tributes we guess.
The asking price for this custom Mustang? $13,400. That seems kind of hopeful, but maybe somebody out there likes this weird ride as much as the original builder did.
