We’re no strangers to Trar’s which is, for the uninitiated, a car body on a truck frame. It’s a popular conversion with the Good Ol’ Boys south of the Mason-Dixon line, and we’ve seen just about everything, including Mustangs, given the trar treatment before. Usually trar’s use older, less-popular models, picking up the body cheap and strapping it to some classic truck frame. But such combo-cars don’t always come from the South, and they aren’t always a beat up old jalopy either.
In today’s Craigslist Find though, we have something a little more modern; a 2000 Ford Mustang strapped to the body of, well, we’re not quite sure. We’re thinking Bronco, but with this Mustang trar, nothing is off the table. Add to that the fact that it comes from Michigan of all places, and you’ve got yourself quite the contraption.
We say that because powering this modern Mustang is a classic drivetrain, a 5.0 V8 that was never offered in this year of Mustang. That leads us to believe the frame almost certainly came from either an older Bronco or F-150. The push-button 4×4 works, though the speedometer and tach apparently don’t. We especially love the Cobra emblem up front too, because nothing says horsepower like a Cobra emblem.
The bright blue paint probably shows off the mud rather well too, and judging from the pictures this Mustang ain’t afraid of a little dirt. Riding on 31-inch BFG tires and with a brawny bumper at the back, $5000 seems like a steal for this unique take on American muscle. Would you get down and dirty with this Mudstang?
