While eBay may be the best place to find those hard-to-come-by NOS parts for your Studebaker or Packard, Craigslist is the place to go when you need…everything else. The automotive section is littered with half-finished projects and hopeful prices. While there are diamonds among the chaff, sorting through all the bad ideas and unskilled labor can be just as entertaining as stumbling across a rare and valuable barn find.
Take for example this Fox-body Mustang 5.0, complete with truck stacks, bullhorns, and shiny chrome wheels that look like they belong on a low-rider. We always say to each their own…but does this Mustang come with a mesh hat too?
The car was originally listed for sale in Springfield, Missouri, though the ad has since been taken down. Regardless, knowing that this Mustang came from Missouri adds some context to these picture. After all, trucking is a big industry down south, as are big trucks. But not everyone wants a big truck; some people obviously prefer the small and nimble Mustang.
So why not add some trucker flair? It is hard to tell, but the exhaust stacks appear to be functional, and actually integrate with the body kit quite nicely. The roof-mounted air horns, less so, and we’re not sure what’s up with the truck-style towing mirrors or massive antenna either. Maybe this guy had a bunch of truck parts left over from his last project and just decided to put them on his Mustang?
Regardless, it is definitely a…unique look for the Fox-body Mustang.
