There has always been a lot of special edition Mustangs. More than any other brand, Ford tends to hook up with aftermarket vendors, magazines, and charity causes on the Mustang. Just to name a few; there is the Warriors in Pink Edition, the Shelby GT500, any Roush or Saleen, the Iacocca Editon, so on and so forth. It can all be a little overwhelming, even as we welcome yet another edition to the Mustang family.
Meet the 2011 DUB Edition Mustang. DUB Magazine hooked up with Ford and rapper Nelly to make this big-rimmed V6 version of America’s favorite pony car. They start hitting dealerships next week, according to AutoBlog.
The DUB Edition Mustang is exactly what you might expect from a magazine that derived its name from slang referring to twenty-inch rims. All show, very little go. The DUB Edition can only be had on the V6 Mustang coupe or convertible. It does get the more-aggressive 3:31 gears normally reserved for the V6 Performance Package version. Handling has also hopefully improved due to the lowering springs that drop the Mustang for a more aggressive stance. Aside from the addition of a new steering rack, everything else is mechanically the same to any other V6 Mustang.
The DUB Edition (which looks best in black) is naturally equipped with 20” TIS wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber. It gets a hood scoop from Ford’s own catalog, as well as a new Roush front and rear fascia, as well as side splitters and rear valence. DUB is also embroidered in the headrests and special “DUB” stripes run along the center of the car. Up to 1,000 DUB Edition Mustangs will be built, and a V8 options may be available later on down the road.
