eBay Find of the Day: 2011/1968 Fastback Mustang From SEMA

Most young men wouldn’t mind getting their hands on a brand new, 412 horsepower 2011 Ford Mustang GT. Starting at over $30,000, it is a car few men under the age of 30 can even afford. John Herrmann, a 23-year old from Nebraska, was one of those lucky few…and then he tore the brand new Mustang apart in order to create a one-of-a-kind tribute to the ‘68 fastback Mustang. His work even made it to the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas.

And now this unique modern/retro Mustang is up for sale on eBay. It’s a chance to own a real work of art, and it is sure to stand out from any car crowd. To see more photos of this car, check out our feature from SEMA.

Herrmann replaced much of the sheet metal on the 2011 Mustang to give it the long, fastback look of the famous ‘67/’68 Mustangs. The sheet metal actually came from a Dynacorn Mustang replica body, which Herrmann placed on to the 2011. He also elongated the fenders and hood, and a lot of custom body work went into this beast.

But underneath the body work is still a 2011 Ford Mustang GT. This includes a tuned-up 5.0 engine with intake and exhuast modifications, a back-up camera, a leather interior, and lots of original touches. All told this Mustang took nine months to go back in time. Bidding seems to have stalled right around $35,000. Personally, we dig this car. It’s different, well done, and looks damn good. What would you shell out for this unique modern/retro Mustang?
