Most car customizers are lucky to build a single ride that grabs national attention these days, but some shops have a habit of turning out one incredible car after another. Professional customizers the Ring Brothers have created some of the most memorable modern renditions of the Mustang we’ve ever seen, and their creations can go for hundreds of thousands of dollars. These cars feature a level of detail and craftsmanship that make them worth every penny.
Up on eBay from RK Motors Charlotte is one of the Ring Brothers’ greatest creations, the Pro-Touring, autocrossing ‘66 Mustang known as “Bailout.” The epitome of racing perfection with a 600-horsepower 427 and integrated carbon fiber body parts, this is one of the best Mustangs money can buy, bar none. That’s why it was the star at SEMA just a few years ago.
What do we mean by integrated carbon fiber body panels? Well the roof, for example, is no longer metal but rather that expensive carbon fiber. The fiberglass hood has an integrated carbon fiber hood scoop, to shave as much weight as possible. The 427 cubic-inch engine even sits six-inches further back than stock, to help balance the Bailout Mustang better.
But the heart and soul of this ride is the suspension, from the custom NASCAR-style Woodward steering setup to the mini-tubbed double-A arm suspension comprised of TCP tubular control arms and VariShock variable coilovers. An integrated roll cage with a comfortable and classy, but very basic interior indicates that this a race car first and foremost. Hence the race car-like price of $299,000.
If we had it, we’d definitely spend it on this former SEMA ride, and race the hell out of it. What would you do with the Bailout Mustang?
