The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor has proven to be a wild success for Ford, which sold over 12,000 of the off-road trucks in 2012 alone. With the F-150 having more packages, options, and special editions than almost any other Ford product (save maybe the Mustang), it was only a matter of time before Ford started stacking one package on top of the other. Such is the case with the plainly named 2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition, which, we’re afraid to say, isn’t really all that special. Read on to see what we mean.
The SVT Raptor was available in a range of eye-catching colors, including Race Red, Blue Flame, and Molten Orange, with that last one no longer being an option on the 2014 model. Instead buyers can opt for the Special Edition Package, which adds a new color, Ruby Red Metallic. Buyers can also choose the Tuxedo Black Metallic paintjob for their Special Edition Raptor.
The Special Edition gets special box graphics and Brick Red seat bolsters with black inserts on the inside. The center stack, console top, and door panel also get aesthetic upgrades, but other than that, there really isn’t anything to get too excited about. Maybe we’re just too jaded by the awesomeness of the stock SVT Raptor, and the glorious opulence of the supercharged Shelby Raptor to get amped about a couple of color and seat options. Ford has spoiled us it seems.
