There are a million ways to make your car stand out from the crowd…even when your car already stands out from the crowd. Take the new 5.0 Mustang for instance. No matter what car show you go to, somebody is sure to show up with one of these, those 5.0 badges helping distinguish it from other models. There are more effective ways to get attention than some subtle badges though. Like maybe some gaudy graphics.

Ford has just released their graphics customizer for the 2011 Ford Mustang, letting you play around with all kinds of stickers. And they plan to offer the option on the Taurus next.

The customizer already lets you play around with the Fiesta, so getting to go all out on the Mustang is a real treat. You start out by choosing the color of your car, and then have the option of adding graphics to the hood and side, and it also allows you to add racing stripes as well. Because what is a muscle car without racing stripes?

We’re not gonna lie; some of the graphics options are downright tacky, like the 5.0 engine sticker for the hood. It’s just a cheap rendition of the Corvette ZR-1’s glass hood window. The “Powered By Ford” hood graphics are a different story (especially in blue!) Really, it all comes down to personal preference, and there are a lot of options and colors to play with, including faux-carbon fiber and pink (for the ladies). We went with the classic GT350 white-and-blue look because hey, why not? Everybody loves a classic.

It makes us wonder though what kind of graphics the Taurus might get. Graphics packages tend to run between $299 and $499, depending on the “intensity” of the graphic.
