For most of the last decade, Ford of Europe has churned out some of the most desirable sports cars and hot hatches in the Blue Oval’s global lineup. We missed out on the turbocharged, front-drive fun of cars like the Focus RS, at least until the Focus ST showed up stateside. America is also finally getting the smaller Fiesta ST, another European import that shows great promise in the U.S. market.

With all these Euro hatches invading American homes, Ford thought it was a good time to introduce its official European tuning partner as well. Ford owners will now have access to mountune’s parts and accessories through Ford dealerships and with a Ford Racing warranty.

“So what?” you might say, turning your nose up at those snooty Euro-tuners. Well we’ve covered what mountune is capable of, and it is mighty impressive. mountune is responsible for tuning Tanner Foust’s Fiesta ST Global RallyCross racer, after all, and the also delivered a performance boost for Focus ST and Fiesta ST owners as well. These tuning packages boosted output of the pair of hot hatches by about 15%, an awful lot for such a small car.

“Global enthusiasts and racers alike have been eager to experience mountune performance. We’ve responded to our fans and customers and with the launch of Mountune LLC, a full range of products will be available to support their requirements,” says David Mountain, founder of mountune U.K.

And just because mountune is based in Europe doesn’t mean you’ll have to wait weeks for parts or service. mountune will be establishing a distribution and service center stateside, and this facility will be expandable to support even more racing and motorsports programs. This will help get parts and service to customers quickly, adding yet another level of available performance to the line of EcoBoost-powered ST cars.. No word yet on exactly which products mountune will offer in the US however, over in Europe one of their packages boosts Focus ST power by 25 hp, and improves 0-60 times by 0.8 seconds!  The company has also tuned the now legendary Ford GT of almost a decade ago. With our favorite pony car going global we have to wonder, could there be a mountune Mustang in the future? It’s a good day to be a Ford fan indeed.
