None of us ever really abandon dreams of driving a race car, but the closest most of us will ever get are the high-speed go karts in most metropolitan areas. There is another, smaller way to get your racing fix though; RC cars. And unlike go karts, these RC cars can take the shape of our favorite production and race cars.

So it is about time that somebody (that somebody being HPI Racing) finally built an officially licensed Monster Energy/Falken Tire 2011 Mustang E10 Drift RTR. That would be the official ride of 2010 Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr.

It must be pretty cool for Gittin to have a toy built after his car, and we’re sure he has one sitting on a mantle somewhere in his home. You might want to put it on your mantle too, as this car has had a remarkable level of detail scaled down to 1/10^th size, including all the sponsors stickers and even the hood pins. The HRE wheels and Falken RT-615 drift tires are also accurate and licensed replicas of the real deal.

Under the chassis is a different story though. This is the greenest Mustang ever built, driven by a high torque Saturn 27T 540 electric motor that gets its power from a 7.2 volt Plazma rechargeable battery pack. The whole system is enclosed in a durable body, and the toy upstages its big brother with a shaft-driven four-wheel drive system. The 2.4 GHz radio system provides the most accurate vehicle control without the need for crystals (someone explain that to us, because we’re picturing some kind of crystal-powered remote control sort of like a lightsaber.) No word on price, but these will be hitting stores soon enough, we’re sure. They’ve got plenty of Mustangs and other cars besides this, but are they covered in awesome sponsor stickers? Nope. This thing is legit, and that is a whole other kind of cool.

The RTR E10 Drift from HPI Racing is an entry level 1/10th scale electric drift car designed for fun driving with realistic looks and performance, all at a low price. The E10 was designed so anyone can take the wheel and give drifting a try! The E10 uses standard body mounting points so owners can fit a wide variety of HPI Racing bodies to customize the look of their car.
