There aren’t a lot of similarities that can be drawn between golfing and racing. Both certainly have their appeal, though golf tends to be the “calmer” of the two sports. That said, golf certainly has its thrilling moments, and few feelings can compare to sinking a hole-in-one. So rarely do golfers get a hole-in-one, that many courses offer substantial prizes for anyone pulling off the feat.

That was the case at the Hesston College Kansas Golf Benefit at the Prairie Dunes Golf Club Hutchinson, Kansas. Tom West was playing a round of golf at the benefit, reports Hesston.edu, when he sunk a hole-in-one on Hole 10…winning a brand new Roush RS3 Mustang in the process.

Mel Hambleton Ford is the Ford dealership that donated the Roush RS3 to the benefit. A hole-in one is truly an astounding stroke of luck, and some might call the contest rigged were it not for the fact that West had to sink a hole-in-one to win. No raffle, no drawing…just a really lucky shot. Phil Nightingale, General Managed to Hambleton Ford, was on hand to congratulate West and hand him the keys. Amazingly, this isn’t the first Mustang to be won by a hole-in-one this year. Maybe we should start playing more golf?

With an MSRP of around $60,000, the Roush RS3 is a 565 horsepower supercharged alternative to the Shelby GT500. It’s a stunning, sexy Mustang, a rarer vehicle than today’s contemporary Shelby Mustangs. West is now among the privileged few to belong to an exclusive club of Roush owners.

They say a lot of business gets done on the golf course. This is one round of golf that definitely paid off.
