The statement has been made many times recently that the Outlaw Dadial class is dead. Low car counts have struck up a tremendous amount of controversy among racers, promoters and fans, but it’s right then that a racer or racers jump on the wagon and silence the critics. With the popularity of X275 you may consider it crazy to take a competitive car out of a class and make a major switch to jump right in with the big boys of Outlaw Radial, but Team Z Motorsports has been busy of late with several of these transformations.
Ricky Fox is no stranger to Outlaw Radial so it’s not like he will have much to figure out when the new car is complete. The Mustang that has been sent to Dave Zimmerman and crew at Team Z was purchased and campaigned for a short time in X275 with a small block Fulton nitrous combination. Now that the car has made its way to Michigan, it’s receiving a new front suspension to be able to handle the horsepower produced by the new Fulton engine. One of the main pieces that will be thrown under Ricky’s new car is one of Team Z’s custom K-members, which will allow plenty of clearance for the new engine.
Fox has stated that he hopes to debut the car at the World Cup Finals at Maryland International Raceway in November. He currently is the only nitrous radial car to break the six-second barrier and with the modifications being made to the blue notchback, he will be on a mission to catch the turbo cars in the cold November air. Also, once the new car is delivered, the record-setting black Mustang will find its way to Team Z for a complete makeover. Check out the feedback Ricky is receiving over on Yellowbullet.
