As one of the foremost Mustang tuners in the country, Roush Performance holds a special place in the hearts of many muscle car enthusiasts. Yet because of the nature of their business, which is speed, Roush has not offered much in the way of performance parts or packages for the more-popular Mustang V6 models.
But that all changes today with Roush’s announcement that Livernois-based tuner would begin offering the Roush RS package for V6 Mustangs. It’s a natural expansion of a business model that sees Roush modifying most every Ford product, including the Focus, F-150, and Mustang GT.
The Roush RS package leaves the 3.7 liter V6 engine alone in favor of suspension modifications and exterior enhancements. The Roush RS package adds 19-inch painted aluminum wheels, the same wheels and tires found on the Mustang GT with the Brembo brakes upgrade. Roush lowering springs drop the Mustang RS an inch over stock, improving both looks and handling.
The Roush RS also borrows aero body parts from the RS6 bodykit including high-flow upper and lower grilles, along with a front chin splitter, side splitters, and rear decklid splitter. The package costs $4,000 on top of the cost of a Mustang V6, which is a veritable bargain to own your own certified Roush Mustang. It’s the cheapest way to get a Roush into your garage, so what are you waiting for Mustang V6 owners?
