Next month will prove to be a big one for the American auto industry. That’s because it is time once again for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. Some of the biggest reveals of the year are slated for Detroit, including the new Corvette C7 among others. But it seems like Ford and Shelby could be ready to reveal something that might just steal the show.

The Shelby American blog has announced big reveals for both Detroit and the New York auto shows this year, and they included a quote from Carroll Shelby that may have just tipped their hand. Is an EcoBoost Mustang slated to be revealed?
It seems that way. While the Shelby American blog talks about new widebody kits for the new Super Snake, as well as 2005 to 2009 Shelby Mustangs, what caught our eye was a quote included in the blog post from none other than Carroll Shelby himself.
While that might strike fear into the heart of some enthusiasts, we think it means good things, in the form of an EcoBoost Mustang, are on their way. While the natural candidate for an EcoBoost Mustang is the 3.5 liter twin-turbo V6, there is also the high-performance version of the 2.0 EcoBoost to consider as well. What is Shelby planning? We’ll have to wait until next month to find out…
