Just two weekends ago one of the most deared Drag Radial racers in the country went for a wild ride at the Yellowbullet Nationals. Stevie “Fast” Jackson crashed hard into the wall at Cecil County Dragway during qualifying, causing extensive damage to his familiar orange Mustang. Jackson is known for being one to push the limitations, and as such, boasts one of the quickest cars in the racing world on radials. As we’ve seen when these racers experience a crash of this multitude the racing community comes together to help get them back on track.

That is just the case with Jackson, after his crew drove through the night after the crash to get the car back to Teddy Houser Race Cars in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Houser met Steve and his crew on Sunday morning and immediately started dismantling the mangled sheet metal and surveying the damage to the front clip. By measuring the chassis the crew found that it had only moved 50 thousandths of an inch since the car was constructed two years ago and withstood a major impact with the wall. 

Many major supporters have come together to get the Mustang ready for Georgia in a few weeks. Mickey Thompson sent out a new set of wheels and tires as well as Schoneck Composites working around the clock to complete a new carbon fiber front clip. With the parts rolling in the reconstruction has already begun, with the sheet metal being replaced along with a new rear end going into place. The new front suspension and clip are going into place with No Mercy III later this month as the ultimate goal.
