A new season of the world’s best automotive show, Top Gear (the UK version of course) will soon return with a new season. You can expect plenty of fun and shenanigans from the likes of Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. For Mustang fans this season will have one particular segment of interest, as revealed in a sneak preview.

Top Gear Magazine posted these teaser pictures on their site, which includes the three hosts in front of a Shelby GT500 with packed luggage. What exactly is going on here?

Our hosts will be taking the Shelby on a 500 mile race, with two of the hosts stuck riding a train while the third host races to beat them in the GT500. Clarkson behind the wheel (he always gets the best gigs) while May and Hammond ride a train in a race from Britain to Italy to catch a soccer match at San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy.

That means Clarkson will most likely be competing against high-speed trains capable of speeds over 150 mph on average. Seems like the race is already lost…but we know the Top Gear guys, and we expect a close contest thanks to the Shelby’s 662 horsepower. It is one segment we are definitely looking forward to, though the Ford Focus ST is also expected to make an appearance in the battle of the hot hatchbacks.

But the Shelby-vs-train race? That sounds just downright fun to watch.
