In case you don’t know, Ford has been running a contest on its Mustang Customizer website. The premise is simple; build the best damn Mustang you can, and get all of your friends to vote it up. So far Ford’s Mustang Battle has lots of players, and for good reason; four lucky winners will actually take home the Mustangs they build for themselves. That’s a pretty awesome prize for bugging your friends to like your status on Facebook.
Ford isn’t just getting their fans in on the action though; the Blue Oval has reached out to both its motorsports drivers and some big name musicians and athletes, asking them to compete against each other. The top match right now? 2010 Formula D Champion and Mustang driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. versus multi-platinum album rapper/actor/producer Ludacris. So the question then is, who built the better Mustang?
Vaughn Gittin Jr., being the master of drifting that he is, opted for a gray-and-green Mustang GT. Black wheels, a Boss front splitter, and more air vents than you can shake a stick at all make for one mean-looking Mustang. It looks ready to rock, which is of course what Gittin decided to name his customized Mustang creation. He even added tire smoke. That’s cute.
And then we have Luda’s ride. He skipped all the fanfare and went straight for the 662 horsepower Shelby GT500. No tire smoke, bright colors, or endless vents. Luda cuts to the heart of the matter and built a black GT500 with white stripes and white wheels. Simple. Elegant. Awesome.
We’re not sure who to vote for, so we’ll ask you; who built the better Mustang, the racer or the rapper?
