Video: ’13 Mustang GT Vs. V6 Comparison From 0-60 Mph

Nowadays the brand new Mustang V6 can slaughter some older stock GT’s with over 300 horses. Not only are they packed with power, but they get incredible gas mileage with 30+ mpg. With that said, who really wins the battle between these two? Not in performance, but in price. Who wins the battle of the dollars? Here they test both at 1 mile above sea level. No drag strip, just real life driving!

We know that the GT costs about $10k more than it’s sibling, the V6. In the video they break down the price to see what exactly you get for $10k besides two extra cylinders and that awesome V8 rumble that can’t be matched. There’s no doubt here that the GT is obviously more powerful and faster when it comes to performance but let’s break down the pricing and see if it’s really worth that much more. A valid point is made. If in the quarter mile the V6 Mustang is only two seconds slower than the GT, that’s $5,000 a second.

Now on to the testing with Tlfcar.com. The V6 gets from 0-60 in 8.34 seconds at 415 feet. While “third time is a charm” rings through on the GT when they finally get their 0-60 time, it makes it in 6.14 seconds at 297 feet. While the V6 is ultimately cheaper, you’re still getting one heck of a car, but it’s still no GT. First of all, the V6 tested sports an automatic transmission while the GT is a manual and gets some mean tire spin while shifting through the gears. If you’re going for power and gas mileage, it seems like the V6 is the way to go. However, if you’re looking for that V8 growl, the being thrown back in your seat feeling, tires spinning through the gears, and overall high-performance, than the extra $10k just may be worth it. What do you think?
