This next video is for all the fathers out there. The men who worked hard and made huge sacrifices to raise us to be the best people we can be. Fathers have but two duties; to provide for their families, and to pass on their passion and work ethic to the next generation. Often times this includes a love of cars, and all things mechanical. The impact our fathers can have on our lives cannot be measured by any yardstick or study.
But it can be measured by the passion that the next generation puts into their own projects. This video, entitled simply “The Boss,” is one man’s tribute to his father’s 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302, and to the race car drivers who helped make this Mustang a legend. Though only two minutes long, it is amazing how much passion this video exudes.
Filmmaker Cody Liesinger took his father’s all-original 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 and interspersed footage of him washing and driving the muscle car with scenes from Parnelli Jones’ sucessful 1970 Trans Am racing campaign. It is a reminder that not only was the Mustang a hot commodity on the streets back then, but it was also a rough-and-tumble race car, ready to take on all comers.
There is no roaring of the Boss 302 engine, no sound checks of the exhaust, no squealing tires or burning rubber. Instead, this two minute video is a tribute to the previous generation who dared to dream big and drive hard. This video is a thank you to all the fathers out there who kept a piece of American automotive history alive in their garage, and more importantly, passed on their passion for cars like the Mustang to the next generation.
