As we approach the beginning of the new year, we realize that 2015 has taught us many things as car enthusiasts. We’ve learned that the sixth-generation S550 chassis Mustang makes a great platform, whether as a dedicated racecar or a daily driver.

BMR Suspension‘s Mustang suspension specialist Kelly Aiken has chosen to reap the benefits of the all-new chassis by having the best of both worlds – a low 9-second daily driven ’15 GT.
Aiken’s base model ’15 GT has become host to a ton of high-performance modifications, which allow his car to achieve its fastest ET yet – a 9.11-second quarter-mile at a blazing 152.95 mph. Aiken has accomplished this through the help of a VMP Tuning 2.3 liter TVS supercharger and a custom E85 fuel compatible tuning calibration from Lund Racing for starters. While supporting modifications such as Manley Performance H-Beam rods, Mahle 11.0:1 Cobra Jet pistons, and an OEM Boss 302 crankshaft ensures the entire package performs reliably. Additionally, the package also uses Clevite bearings and Modular Motorsports Racing billet oil pump and crank gears. Interestingly enough, the package works flawlessly with the factory cylinder heads and camshafts for the time being.
Of course the package on Aiken’s GT wouldn’t be complete without some necessary bolt-ons along the way, like a Kesatie Motorsports built short block, a JLT cold air intake system, a Shaftmasters one-piece aluminum driveshaft, and a pair of FRPP/G-Force half-shafts rated at 1,500 horsepower.
Aiken and the team at BMR Suspension and Lund Racing have full confidence in this devilish blue street-and-strip fighter Mustang GT breaking into the 8s shortly. Aiken says, “Now that I am done adding power for the most part, I plan on dialing it in now and will spray to get it into the 8s.”
