Video: Brenspeed Takes BOSS Horsepower Into The Stratosphere

It’s no secret that for the money there may be no greater bargain than the 2012-2013 BOSS 302. This track-bred Mustang was designed to take on the best that the world had to offer, even being pitted head to head against the BMW M3, a darling of the general automotive press, and a car that is far more expensive than the BOSS.

If the BOSS’s 444 hp from the factory isn’t doing it for you, or you’re just looking to absolutely annihilate anything that you come across on the street, strip, or road course, then the guys at Brenspeed have the answer, not in the form of just a simple botl-on, but in the form of a wicked supercharger setup, that boosts the BOSS engine’s output by more than 200 hp.

Brenspeed is once again working their magic with a ROUSH Performance R2300 TVS Supercharger. The kit comes complete with everything needed to upgrade the BOSS and increase total engine output by more than 50%.

Parts Included:

  •     ROUSH R2300 TVS supercharger
  •     ROUSH TVS Cold Air Intake System W/Heat Sheild
  •     Fuel charging assembly
  •     High-flow fuel rail with 47-lb fuel injectors
  •     Twin 60mm throttle body
  •     Aluminum bifurcated throttle spacer
  •     Heavy duty, first sheave FEAD system

High capacity and efficiency air-to-water intercooler system
High Efficiency, full face intercooler low temp radiator
                    Large capacity intercooler de-gas bottle

  •     ROUSH low restriction air induction system
  •     All required wiring, brackets, hoses, harnesses, and clamps
  •     Fuel System Upgrade
  •     Colder Spark Plugs
  •     9-11 PSI Pulley
  •     SCT X3 Tuner Pre Loaded with Brenspeed 715R Calibration

From the factory the BOSS typically will put down about 379 hp to the rear tires in stock form. The Brenspeed test car featured in the video was also upgraded with a set of Kooks long-tube headers and high-flow catalytic converters. On the dyno with the Brenspeed supercharger package, the new combo produced 631 hp to the rear tires. That’s an increase of 252 hp! Torque maxes out around 525 ft-lbs, and the curve is flat and smooth. Customers without high flowing headers like those from Kooks should expect slightly less power output.

This is only the Stage 1 system. Brenspeed offers upgrades to make even more power if 715 hp at the crank is just not enough. For more information on this or other Brenspeed packages, checkout the Brenspeed web site.
