The 2015 Mustang is the hottest piece of news in the automotive world right now. Last week as part of the celebration surrounding the original pony car Ford took time to officially unveil the 50th Anniversary Mustang, a limited edition, with only 1,964 copies being produced. CJ Pony Parts was on the ground in New York to cover the big reveal.

Of course prior to getting to see the car there was a lengthy speech from Ford COO Mark Fields regarding the history and importance of the Mustang brand. Fields talked about how popular the Mustang was when it was originally introduced and how this was a rare moment in automotive history. It’s one that is likely never to be repeated again.

Then it was time for the big reveal, to flashing lights, and rock music, Bill Ford Jr rode shotgun onto the auto show stage in a Wimbledon White 2015 50th Anniversary. Ford took a few minutes to reiterate that his first car was a Mustang, and how important the model is to him personally.

Ford also laid out what the 50th Anniversary Mustang model is. Based on the Track Pack Mustang GT, the very limited 50th anniversary model will be available with either an automatic transmission or a manual. Only two colors will be available either Wimbledon White, or Kona Blue. Aside from the color and transmission choices, there really aren’t many other options to select on the anniversary models. These will feature unique wheels, special louvered appearing quarter windows, corralled pony badge, chrome tail light surrounds, 50th anniversary badging on the rear, and a special Bill Ford Jr signed dash plaque. The interior also features unique seat covers, and colors.

While they were in New York, CJ’s also sent a crew to the Empire State Building to see the Mustang on the observation deck. Unfortunately officials wouldn’t let the CJ’s video team up top, so they had to settel for taking some stills which they also presented in the video.
