Seeing someone pushing a platform that’s really not meant for drag racing is what makes going to the track fun. It doesn’t matter if the car is import or domestic — a well thought-out build putting up a big number is exciting to see. Other countries have to get very creative with the builds they produce given the vehicles at their disposal, and Australia has a reputation for rolling out some of the most radical cars around — and this nine-second Ford G6E Turbo is no exception.
A Ford G6E falls in the same family tree as the Australian Ford Falcon. The seventh generation of this full size car has a boat load of trim levels and drive line options available. The G6E turbo is one of the more option filled models that comes with a very peppy boosted inline six-cylinder mill from the factory that’s just ripe for some added boost and power.
Nizpro Turbocharging got their hands on this G6E and really turned it up a notch. Under the hood is a Ford Barra 4.0L I-6 armed with forged bottom end. Nizpro added a Precision Turbo that cranks out a hefty 29 psi of boost. They also modified the stock six-speed slushbox and added a Circle D torque converter to slam all 779 horsepower to the M&H 275 radial tire. All of that equates to an insane 9.99 pass at over 150 mph with a 1.63 sixty-foot. The video from FullBoost tells the tale of how quick this car is, even kicking the tires before the sixty-foot mark.
