Gibson Performance Exhaust rolled out some hot new products for both the 2015 Mustang, and for other applications during this year’s SEMA show. These hardcore exhaust parts are designed and engineered to help Mustang owners optimize performance and get a more aggressive sound out of their car.
First up on the list from Gibson Performance Exhaust is the company’s brand-new long tube header option for the ’11-’15 Mustang GT powered by the infamous Coyote 5.0 liter V8.
Gibson’s Long-Tube Race Headers feature a full stainless-steel construction and incorporate 2-inch primaries which lead to a 3.5-inch collector. These headers free up some immense back pressure, allowing Coyote powered Mustangs to maximize performance by getting the most out of a free-flowing exhaust.
The headers are designed for the hardcore enthusiasts and racers out there. If you’re building the baddest pony on the block, chances are you’re going to need a set of these headers to make the most horsepower. The headers made in the U.S.A. and are available in two finishes – a standard stainless-steel (PN GP238S) and a ceramic-coated finish (PN GP238S-C.) They even include a lifetime warranty.
’15 EcoBoost Mustang Cat-Back Dual Exhaust System
Choosing an exhaust system for the ’15 EcoBoost Mustang can be a hit or a miss at times. That’s why Gibson has taken all of the guesswork out with its dual cat-back exhaust system for the EcoBoost Mustang.
The exhaust is a direct-fit complete bolt-on installation, and is constructed from stainless-steel. The exhaust also features the company’s SuperFlow CFT muffler, which leads to an equal length merged X-pipe, then progresses into 3-inch exhaust, exiting out of the rear into 4-inch exhaust tips. This design not only enhances the sound of the Mustang’s EcoBoost inline-four cylinder to sound more turbo-biased and aggressive – it also provides an impressive amount in horsepower gains. Gibson claims the exhaust will add a total increase of 30 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque, which is impressive indeed.
Like the Coyote headers above, this cat-back dual exhaust system is made in the U.S.A., includes a lifetime warranty, and is available in two optional finishes – stainless-steel (PN 619014) and ceramic-coated (PN 619014-B.)
SuperFlow M.W.A. Universal Muffler System
The company’s latest in muffler technology is the Mufflers With Attitude (MWA) muffler system. The MWA system is very much a hybrid – featuring a straight-thru design which allows the muffler to promote exhaust gases to pass at the highest flow possible, while maintaining the sound and performance of a straight-pipe exhaust.
The muffler operates to improve power output while keeping drone to a minimum while at low RPM. At WOT, the exhaust gas passes through the muffler at an execrated rate – providing the end-user with a straight-pipe exhaust note which is not permanent or active all of the time. The MWA does not utilize packing material or a heavy internal baffle, which creates the best exhaust note experience from day-one, and maintains an overall lighter weighted small designed muffler size. The mufflers are non-directional, and are available in numerous compact sizes. Inlet and outlet sizes range from 2.25-inches to 3.0-inches in diameter for universal applications.
Additionally, these MWA mufflers are also constructed out of stainless steel, made in the U.S.A., and are backed by a lifetime warranty for any application they are installed on.
Gibson takes pride in the components they offer to enthusiasts like ourselves, which is why it protects the components it sells with a rust and corrosion treatment before they leave the shop.
