There are literally millions of fancy images of automobiles plastering the Internet and paper publications. Most of the time, we don’t give a second thought to the hours or days of planning and effort that go into some of these photo shoots. We just want to see the pretty final product, much the same as we want the nitty gritty details of Roush’s newest Mustang, the RS3.
Alas, Roush seems content to continue to tease us, this time a video. It’s a good one though, providing some depth and details as to what goes into a photo shoot to produce drool-worthy pictures like the ones Roush teased us with a few weeks ago.
The photo shoot happened at 1880 studios in Troy, Michigan, north of Detroit, and these guys sure put a lot of effort into the art of the photograph. The two-minute-and-change video is basically a fast-forward stop motion of a day’s worth of shooting of the new RS3 (Roush Stage 3) Mustang, that we have no details on but are expecting to have a healthy dose of horsepower and suspension modifications.
We do get a detailed look at the lengths to which photographers will go to get the perfect picture. A huge white backdrop is joined by a wall of bright lights and two other movable white walls at different angles to reflect the light in just the right way. They even painted the floor to get the right reflection of light in the photograph, and halfway through the shoot they change the rims (so at least we know the RS3 will have wheel options.) And at the end of the video we got to see just one finished picture. Was it worth the wait?
