Having risen to the top of his class, Vaughn Gittin Jr. has become one of the foremost drifters in the world. But it wasn’t always like that. Like many racers, Gittin had to work hard and move through the ranks, often trailering cars between events himself before finally making it to the big time. A world championship can change your perspective on life, but it seems Gittin has somehow stayed grounded.

On his Facebook page, Gittin posted this video of himself and some of his Drift Alliance friends doing what they always do to have fun…hooning it up! And this time Gittin brought out his old classic Fox-body Mustang to play around with the Nissans drifters seem so infatuated with.

There isn’t all that much to discuss in this video. It’s a bunch of professional and amateur drifters, out on the track with a bunch of beat-up old cars, hooning the absolute crap out of them. We don’t think a single one of those cars is less than 20 years old, including Gittin’s infamous Drift Alliance Mustang. But that doesn’t stop them from shredding rubber or kicking ass.

There is something inherently cool about watching old, less-than-clean cars racing around the track. It is a reminder that for these racers, these old cars are as much tools as they are mementos to their history and success. These old warriors bear many scars from battles long ago won or lost, but there is still no holding them back when it comes to racing.
