Ford’s original GT40 design featured four different iterations; Mk I, Mk II, Mk III, built in England, and Mk IV, which was built in the US of A, was the stuff of legend back in the day. The car won the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years in a row and was one of the most successful Ford road racing cars ever.

The Mk IV GT40 is to this day the only car designed and built in this country to claim an overall Le Mans win, and SuPerformance has reproduced it so accurately that they are able to claim the name GT40 without ticking off the Ford law department.

It is a high-quality reproduction, but a reproduction so accurate as to include all of the GT40 details down to the tiniest. In fact, SuPerformance claims that over two thirds of the rolling chassis parts can be interchanged with the original car with no issue at all. It’s even got a monocoque-style chassis like the original. For the SuPerformance team, making final vehicle weight come in between 2,200 and 2,400 pounds depending upon final equipment selection has made these into incredible-performing machines that are a true high-quality representation of the original.
