Just a few weeks ago, we posted a video of the 2016 Ford Focus RS being spied on during testing at Nurburgring. And we have to say, that RS got tossed around like no one’s business. It’s pretty obvious that the car is capable of holding its own on the track, but what about the Hillclimb? Like the one at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with who Ken Block is or what he does, he’s a professional rally driver for Hoonigan Racing Division, previously known as Monster World Rally Team. He’s quite famous for a number of things, one of which is his Gymkhana series on YouTube, and his presence in the World Rally Championship Series.
Goodwood’s hillclimb event is a pretty tough one to say the least. We’ve seen a few cars this year like this vintage 1989 Mazda 767B racecar eat a wall during the event, or this video of Ken Block from earlier in his 1965 Mustang drifting the turns. But with 345 horsepower and its all-new torque-vectoring system to mitigate understeer, we feel confident the Focus RS will be posting up some pretty good lap times on this year’s Hillclimb event.
