The versatility of Ford’s EcoBoost engines continues as people modify their cars and trucks. This particular F-150 with a 3.5-liter engine equipped with EcoBoost belongs to Daniel Bremer, and made a couple changes made to help bump up the power.
The truck is running with Cavalli Turbos in place of the OE snails, so that alone should produce some gains based. However, it now also features a Reische Performance 170-degree thermostat; a TurboSmart supersonic blow-off valve and wastegates; a 3-bar MAP sensor, an AEM water/methanol injection system, and a 4.10:1 rearend ratio. It all comes together via a custom calibration flashed with an SCT Performance tuner.
Considering this modest list of modifications, the gains on this truck were quite impressive. The method used by MPT Performance here was a great way to see serious power out of an EcoBoost engine without going crazy with changes and without risking streetability.
