Lot Number: 386 – 2008 Shelby GT, Barrett-Jackson Edition

Donated for auction by Ron Pratte, actor and noted Mustang collector, all proceeds from the sale of this Limited Edition 2008 Shelby GT will go to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. Originally sold only through Arizona Ford dealers, the Barrett-Jackson Edition Shelby GT was a limited build of 100 cars, both coupe and convertible. This is #8 of the hundred built and comes with a 319-hp 4.6-liter V8 and 5-speed manual transmission.

Unique to the Barrett-Jackson Edition are the Red Lemans stripes, Barrett-Jackson Edition door sill plates and special gas cap insert. The interior of this particular Shelby GT has been autographed by Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi from the hit reality TV show American Idol.

Lot Number: 32.1 – Unrestored 1968 California Special

This special edition Mustang represents a unique and enduring chapter in Mustang history. While it was only available in the coupe body style, any regular Mustang option or production color could be ordered. This example features a “J” Code 302-cid with 4-barrel carburetor, upgraded air conditioning and 3-speed manual transmission.

The motor is reported to be original and untouched. Only 4,188 California Specials were made in 1968. This car has had a repaint in Acapulco Blue. Features unique to the California Special included fiberglass trunk lid and quarter extensions, fiberglass side scoops and a blacked-out front grille. Marchal or Lucas fog lights adorned the front end, while 1965 T-Bird tail lights replaced the originals out back.

A Kevin Marti Report included verifying the car’s authenticity.

Lot Number: 68.1 – 1969 Mustang Q-Code 428 CJ Mach I

You can count on this pony to be a heavy hitter when the bidding is done. A matching numbers 428 Cobra Jet Mach I is hard to find, but in this Royal Maroon color with blacked-out hood, there were reportedly only 37 units built. Additional equipment includes close ratio top loader 4-speed, 3.25-ratio Traction-Lok rear axle, heavy duty front and rear sway bars, frame connectors, power front disc brakes, power steering, Flowmaster dual exhaust, Magnum 500 wheels and BF Goodrich T/A radial tires.

Complete with front and rear spoilers, rear window slats and black deluxe Mach I interior with rear fold-down seat, this is a highly desirable example of one of the most sought-after classic Mustangs. A Marti Report is included. IN top shape, for the right buyer, these 428 CJ Mach’s have commanded 6-figure closing bids.

Lot Number: 362.1 – 2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition

The 2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang is arguably one of Steve Saleen’s more successful contemporary Mustangs. This particular example is number 113 of 500 produced and features the heavily modified, Saleen-built 302 cid motor that delivers 400 hp. Internally, upgraded components include forged pistons and connecting rods, in a high-revving high compression configuration.

Celebrating the glory years when the SCCA Trans Am Series was ruled by Jones, the upgraded engine is supported by an upgraded suspension including Watts-Link rear suspension, lowering springs, tuned shocks and struts, heavier sway bars and Saleen 14″ brakes. Limited-edition black and orange leather seating compliments the Grabber Orange exterior, with a shaker hood scoop and full Saleen special edition badging.

Both Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones have signed this example. The Arizona original car was always garage-kept and has less the 700 actual miles. All proceeds from this auction will to go the Foundation for Blind Children.
