The Trick Flow Twisted Wedge combustion chamber design for 2-valve 4.6/5.4-liter modular engines feature an intake valve that is moved to the opposite side of the camshaft. The benefit is a dramatic increase in mid-lift airflow and increased piston-to-valve and valve-to-bore clearance that allow higher lift cams and larger diameter valves to be used without having to alter the bore size or flycutting pistons. For this to work properly, a redesigned piston that has been engineered for this design must be used.
Ross Racing Pistons has released their new 4.6-liter TFS head piston with the relocated valve design. These pistons are offered in 9-10:1 forced induction applications or 11:1 high compression. The pistons are made from a single piece billet forging and milled down to spec. It comes with options such as internal milling, radial or top gas porting, and numerous coatings.
• Bullet forging
• Gas porting and coating options
• 9:1, 10:1, and 11:1 compression ratios
• Designed specifically for modular trick flow cylinder heads
