Mr. Gymkhana himself, Ken Block has some serious skills and style when it comes to sports and especially when it comes to taking on rally roads in his decked out Fiesta. One place that has incredible terrain complete with fast rolling hills that test the most skilled rally racer is Finland during, what else, the Rally of Finland. It’s one of the best tracks in the WRC series with its technical roads and this was Block’s first time taking it on.
Block hasn’t made it this way before and not because he doesn’t want to, but because he has had date conflicts with the X-games held in L.A. The Summer X have rescheduled leaving the Rally of Finland dates wide open for Ken Block to really show off his mad skills. And show off he did, nailing jumps and drifting around corners making it look almost effortless. He makes the sport look ridiculously easy although, it’s not easy in the least. Driving like this is learned and takes a whole lot of practice and skill.
Ken made his way to Finland early to visit the town of Helsinki and get some tips from Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala before the big event. It’s sad to see that the Fiesta’s suspension gave out after performing one of the jumps causing the car to crash, which ended Ken’s run on the last day of the rally. However, he did get this awesome video compilation in for everyone to see and you can tell he’s one hell of a driver.
