Ford Racing’s New Aluminator XS Is A 500 hp 7500 RPM NA Beast

The Coyote engine continues to impress us. Not since the days of the 5.0 HO have we seen Ford do so much with one engine platform. It would seem that the team over at Ford Racing Parts has been rummaging through the Cobra Jet parts bin, and come up with a beastly new crate engine to offer to enthusiasts everywhere.

The Aluminator XS, part number M6007-A50XS, was recently introduced and is a naturally aspirated bruiser from Ford Racing, turning out 500 hp straight out of the box. The XS is the result of taking parts from the Cobra Jet program and putting them into a package that is ready for the street, strip, or road course.

The foundation for this engine is a typical Coyote 5.0 block and forged crankshaft, however the similarities to the production Coyote end there, and become Aluminator spec. Hard anodized, and Graphal coated 11.0:1 pistons come from Mahle. Manley was sourced for the H-beam connecting rods, which also utilize ARP 2000 bolts.

Cylinder heads are BOSS 302 CNC ported models, currently the best flowing heads for a Coyote engine. Those heads are stuffed with Ford Racing camshafts on the intake and exhaust side, both featuring 13mm of gross lift.

On top of the engine is the Ford Racing Cobra Jet short runner intake manifold which we first got a glimpse of last fall at SEMA. Bringing in the air is a Cobra Jet dual 65mm throttle body.

Oiling is handled by a 12-quart pan, windage tray, and Ford Racing billet steel gear oil pump assembly, ensuring this bullet stays properly lubricated and that the oil pump is up to the demands of an engine of this caliber.

According to Ford Racing’s press release, The Aluminator XS will spin to 7,500-plus RPM, but still offers good mid-range power output. They’ve also included the alternator kit and mounting bracket, which should make setting this up in many cars that much easier. Each engine is hand assembled by the same technicians that put together the Cobra Jet engines, ensuring incredibly high quality standards. Retail price is $15,995, and we could spend all day talking about what cars we’d like to drop this bad boy into, what would you put it in?
