You guys might remember last year when we reviewed the RHS 180 and 215cc aluminum cylinder heads. We were ga-ga over the out-of-the-box flow numbers. The 180cc head flowed 270cfm through the intake at .535″ lift. The 215cc head flowed a whopping 300cfm! Very impressive numbers, but the concern we had was that the 2.02″ intake valve on the heads would require piston notching if installed on a stock 5.0L motor. We communicated that to the guys at RHS and Comp Cams (the parent company), and they said they’d work on it.
Well this week they announced the release of the RHS Pro Action 160cc aluminum head. It features a 1.940″ intake and 1.60″ exhaust valve, and requires no notching of the stock 5.0L pistons (assuming you aren’t running a massive cam.) This is great news for guys wanting an excellent performing cylinder head, with top-notch valve train components, at a reasonable price.
We haven’t flow tested them yet, but will get our hands on a set and report the findings to you soon.
