Another year, another sweet and bright drift Mustang. Vaughn’s new Mustang RTR drifting beast has just been unveiled and it’s a brand spankin’ new 2013 Mustang all decked out and ready to burn some rubber! This time it’s a 2013 Mustang for Vaughn Gittin Jr. featuring brand new livery making this green and black Falkin-ized “Monster” ‘Stang really pop. Check out the photos and the video!
Our man Vaughn has made quite the name for himself with his Formula Drift brightly-colored Mustangs and has been the only American to win the D1 Grand Prix event, not once, but twice. He brought the gold home for the USA in 2005 and again in 2007. In 2010, he won his first Formula Drift competition. He even traveled to China to compete in the World Drift Series (WDS) and won the championship title. Not only that, he also made it over to Saudi Arabia to share drifting with the Middle East and create the video “Drifting in the K.S.A,” which made its way around the web. In 2011, there were ups and downs, but Gittin ended up with one spot on the podium. When the drift season ended, he accomplished six out of seven Formula Drift podium positions.
In 2010, Gittin switched over to the 2011 Monster Energy Falken Tire Mustang – one of the most recognizable Mustangs in motorsports. A name now synonymous with the Mustang, Gittin created his own Mustang brand, the RTR Mustang – a dealer installed package for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT that gives your Mustang a whole new look in appearance and also in regards to performance.
Vaughn’s career has skyrocketed and as one of the best drifting competitors out there, he’s one to look up to for future drivers. In 2011, Ford launched the show “Octane Academy” where Gittin will drive alongside Ken Block, Brian Deegan, and Tanner Foust with a team of kids looking to find an awesome future in the world of Motorsports.
We can’t wait to see what Vaughn Gittin Jr. accomplishes this year with his brand new 2013 RTR Mustang!
