If you are planning to watch this Sunday’s final race of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup racing series, you might see something unusual, but awesome. Since the festivities are dubbed Ford Championship Weekend, the Blue Oval gets to provide the pace vehicles, but this weekend a car won’t pace the Ford EcoBoost 400. Rather, it will be the 2017 F-150 Raptor.

Raptor is a hit, whether on pavement or off-road, and we know our fans will enjoy seeing it out on the track.
Over the years, Fords like the Fusion Hybrid, Bullitt Mustang, F-150 Foose Edition, 50th Anniversary Mustang, Police Interceptors and Need For Speed movie Mustang have paced this race, but with the EcoBoost-powered Raptor about roll into dealer lots, the timing is good to show off the 450-horsepower truck.

In addition to the Raptors, two F-150s will pace the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford EcoBoost 200 on November 18. The trucks are joined by Shelby GT350s pacing the EcoBoost 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race on November 19. (Photo Credit: Ford Motor Company)
Two trucks will appear on-track, with a Lightning Blue F-150 SuperCrew Raptor leading the field to the green flag and an Oxford White 150 Raptor SuperCab serving as the splitter vehicle. Joining the Raptors as pace trucks for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford EcoBoost 200 on November 18 are a Lightning Blue F-150 STX SuperCab and a Ruby Red F-150 Platinum SuperCrew, while a pair of Shelby GT350s will pace the EcoBoost 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race on November 19.
If you love seeing production Fords out on track with their racing cousins, this is your weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
