The 2019 Ford Ranger has finally hit the mid-sized truck market scene here in the US, and it’s clear that the engineers at Ford worked hard to give truck enthusiasts a vehicle that will live up to the “Built Ford Tough” motto.
So we knew it was only a matter of time before the team at AmericanTrucks got their hands on one of these popular vehicles to see precisely how much additional performance they could squeeze out of an already impressive truck.
Well, we didn’t have to wait long as earlier this month, AmericanTrucks Justin Dugan gave viewers a first look at the latest addition to the AmericanTrucks vehicle fleet: a Lightning Blue XLT SuperCrew 2019 Ford Ranger.
Justin jumps right in to explain how, after an eight-year hiatus here in North America, the 2019 Ford Ranger is ready to reclaim its glory in the mid-sized pickup truck market.
There is a lot to like about the 2019 Ford Ranger… – Justin Dugan, AmericanTrucks
In the video, Justin gives us a brief history lesson of how the Ranger came about and reminded us that this compact truck remained one of the Blue Oval’s bestsellers from 1987 to 2004.
While many of us have already visited the Ford site to browse through the different options on the new truck, Justin gives viewers a quick and easy tip to identify each particular model on the street.
Like its big brother the Ford F-150, the 2019 Ford Ranger features a unique front grille for each of the available models. He also talks about the three different trim levels and upgrades that are currently available.
The XL, XLT, and Lariat edition all come equipped with the 2.3L EcoBoost engine, which all produce an impressive 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque giving the small but mighty 2019 Ford Ranger best in class torque, towing, and payload for a mid-sized gas powered truck.
“There is a lot to like about the 2019 Ranger”, said Justin. “Maneuverability is great on the road and in tight spaces while still offering more than enough interior room for the family with the SuperCrew Cab.”
In true AmericanTrucks fashion, the team straps the brand-new vehicle down on the dyno to see what kind of power this EcoBoost engine put down at the wheels. And finally, Justin jumps behind the wheel to take it for a quick spin around town.
If you are in the market for a new mid-sized truck, the fifteen-minute video from AmericanTrucks does a great job of giving you all the pros and cons of this vehicle. We are also excited to see what aftermarket offerings will be available soon one the AmericanTrucks website.
