We were blown away when Ford offered the Line Lock feature on the Mustang GT. That the factory was offering an easy way to facilitate burnouts showed just what great times we are living in. Now, with the arrival of the 2018 model, EcoBoost Mustang drivers can get in on the fun.

“We introduced line-lock on EcoBoost Mustangs because we didn’t want those customers to miss out,” Mark Schaller, Ford Mustang marketing manager, said. “The number of people choosing EcoBoost power continues to grow globally, and with the increased torque and new features coming on the new Mustang, customers will not be disappointed.”

Burnouts just never get old, no matter how old you are and how many times you’ve done them. — Vaughn Gittin Jr.
To show just how easy it is to kill tires in an EcoBoost ’Stang, Ford brought in an expert — the Ultimate Fun Haver. That’s right, Vaughn Gittin Jr. invited passersby to Irwindale Speedway to demonstrate how to use the Line Lock feature on the forthcoming Mustang.

“Burnouts just never get old, no matter how old you are and how many times you’ve done them,” Vaughn said. “Who would have thought that we would see an EcoBoost Mustang producing 15 seconds of fury like this? You’ve got to love these rad things Ford is doing.”
