Now, with the arrival of the 2018 model, EcoBoost Mustang drivers can get in on the fun.
“We introduced line-lock on EcoBoost Mustangs because we didn’t want those customers to miss out,” Mark Schaller, Ford Mustang marketing manager, said. “The number of people choosing EcoBoost power continues to grow globally, and with the increased torque and new features coming on the new Mustang, customers will not be disappointed.”

That’s right, Vaughn Gittin Jr. invited passersby to Irwindale Speedway to demonstrate how to use the Line Lock feature on the forthcoming Mustang.
“Burnouts just never get old, no matter how old you are and how many times you’ve done them,” Vaughn said. “Who would have thought that we would see an EcoBoost Mustang producing 15 seconds of fury like this? You’ve got to love these rad things Ford is doing.”

The feature is available on models with both the 10-speed SelectShift automatic or six-speed manual transmissions and when its engaged the new digital instrument cluster will show an animation of a smoking tire.
