Last January, avid car collector Dennis Collins — best known for his involvement with Richard Rawlings and Gas Monkey Garage — set the Fox Mustang world on fire with a group of some of the lowest-mile Fox Mustangs to come up for sale since they were new on the Ford dealership lot back in the day. All the cars sold for record-breaking prices and sat not only the Fox world on fire, but also got the attention of the collector car world all while setting the trend for Fox pricing moving forward.
Well this year, Dennis is back again with more Fox Mustangs at the 2018 edition of the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction. According to the video above, he plans to bring a total of 16 Fox Mustangs, including the super cool, original 1982 you see here.
This 1982 is certainly a time capsule straight out of the ’80s. With cool, period-correct striping; Marchal foglights; window louvers; and TRX wheels, this car has everything that made the early ’80s Mustangs cool. This car only has 11,900 miles on it and even still sports the original tires and dealership advertising tag on the back.
According to the video, the car was owned by one family its entire life, obviously this black beauty must have been an important member of that family because it was definitely well preserved.
With the Fox Mustang still being as popular as ever, we can only imagine that this collection will put up more impressive numbers on the auction block. As cool as this 1982 is, we cannot wait to see what else Dennis plans on bringing to Arizona in January.
