On Thursday Ford rolled out the 2015 Mustang to the press and the public for the first time with much fanfare. This is the first global Mustang and it must appeal to a broader audience than ever before. While Ford unveiled the car simultaneously around the globe, they’re also rolling out a huge marketing campaign to build the hype.
Ford of Europe recently released what we would consider the first commercial promotion for the new 2015 Mustang, starring non other than Sienna Miller. While Americans know her from the fantasy film Stardust and the action flick GI Joe from a few years back, our neighbors across the pond are quite familiar with this attractive young woman.
In the commercial Sienna walks around the new Mustang, stroking it, admiring it, even kicking the tires at one point. She gets inside and shows off the interior as well, and even works a little magic turning the lights on with a snap of her fingers. If you didn’t think the 2015 Mustang was sexy when you first saw it, this video might change your mind. Unfortunately while we were able to view the video and capture images earlier today, Ford of Europe has now restricted the video to where it can not be viewed by those of us in the USA. We did manage to find it in another link on YouTube, so view it while you can.
After caressing most of the car, and putting her fingerprints all over the interior, Miss Miller lays across the hood as if staring into the windshield before she walks away and spouts off the only spoken line she has in the video “I do love an American accent.”
We hope the rest of the world agrees with Miss Miller and the Mustang is a hit overseas, we kind of wish they’d made a commercial like this for the American market -why does Europe get to have all the fun?
