October is now behind it, and with it comes the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month, during which thousands of charities and volunteers raised millions of dollars for breast cancer detection, prevention, and awareness. Car dealerships and automakers, as usual, have gotten involved in a variety of ways, though this next story is a bit more special.

The Houston Chronicle reports how the two dealerships in Texas not only raised money and awareness for breast cancer, but created a special Mustang that one particular breast cancer survivor just had to have in her life.

Randall Reed’s Planet Ford dealerships in Humble and Spring, Texas, collaborated to build a black Mustang V6 with all sorts of pink highlights. This includes pink wheels, pink racing stripes, and the pink breast cancer bow embroidered into the leather seats with pink stitching. There’s even a pink cold air induction system under the hood. The Mustang was built to raise money and awareness at a variety of charity events all over Texas, but for one particular couple, the Mustang struck close to the heart.

People lined up for an hour or more to take pictures with the Mustang, including breast cancer survivor Gabriela Spellman. Spellman had been looking for a new car for over two years, and after looking at and sitting in this Mustang at the Susan G Komen for the Cure walk she told her husband, David “that’s the car I want.” David exchanged business cards and ended up buying the Mustang for his wife and surprised her with it. The video shows the tearful moments as Gabreila takes delivery of her special Mustang, she says she wants the car to serve as a reminder that early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer. It’s just one more way a Mustang has changed someone’s life, and will impact others.
