The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST has quickly become a darling of the automotive media, praised for its low cost and peppy 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine. With 197 horsepower on tap in the hot little hatchback, the Fiesta ST can really scoot down the road, and thanks to a well-tuned suspension, it feels a helluva lot faster than it really is.
So while we are saddened to see this brand new hot hatch subjected not just to a chrome vinyl wrap, we are just as impressed with the long and brutal burnout at the center of this video. How could you not be?
All judgements aside, Boostaholics procured a privately-owned-and-operated Fiesta ST for this admittedly entertaining video. We’re used to seeing chrome wraps on high-end exotics in places like Dubai and…well, pretty much only Dubai, but a chrome-wrapped Fiesta out in the woods? That’s a new one to us, though it will be impossible to misplace your car even in the most crowded mall parking lot. If you look at it the wrong way, it could straight-up blind you.
While it took a minute or two to get going, eventually the Fiesta ST produces a damn impressive burnout. Those tires are gonna be a bit worse for wear, though we imagine the peppy like EcoBoost loves all that revving. Given all the engineering that went into these new engines, we doubt it hurt the overall longevity and performance much either.
But that chrome wrap? To each their own, we guess.
