Over the years countless Mustang owners have turned to Flowmaster Mufflers to give their pony that more aggressive muscle car tone that it was meant to have. We’ve even heard brand X guys tell us there’s nothing that sounds better than a Mustang with Flowmaster mufflers. Who among us doesn’t crane their head to catch a glimpse of a car heard off in the distance when we first hear that familiar exhaust note approaching.
With the Mustang market once again exploding as the Coyote engine and the S197 platform continue to flourish, Flowmaster is at it again with some new products for late model Mustang owners.
With Mustang customers demanding an even more aggressive tone for their late model Mustangs than what has been available, Flowmaster delivered, with their most aggressive offering for late model Mustangs yet, the Outlaw axle back system.
Flowmaster kit 817516, is available to fit all 2011 to present Mustang GT’s and 2011-2012 GT500’s. The system is made from 16 gauge 409 stainless steel, and includes everything needed for installation. It has an inlet diameter for 2.75 inches, with 4-inch polished exhaust tips. All of the tubing is also mandrel bent, to ensure the best flow possible.
The Outlaw system not only gives the most aggressive tone available from Flowmaster, but also horsepower and fuel economy gains. Checking out the dyno chart available from the company’s web site it’s also impressive to note that horsepower and torque gains occur throughout the RPM range, meaning the improvement is one across the board where the car spends more time, not just in the upper RPM band where a difference is only seen under hard acceleration or race conditions.
Best of all you can hear what these mufflers sound like before you ever by them. In years past buying mufflers has always been a guessing game, Flowmaster’s video allows customers to hear the mufflers both at idle, and under acceleration.
The Outlaw axle back muffler system is available now from Flowmaster retailers. With it’s aggressive tone and Flowmaster quality, we’re sure this system will be a popular one with Mustang owners everywhere.
